March Madness

If March Madness seems more like a reflection of life’s craziness than a basketball tournament.

It’s not that you’re going crazy exactly, it’s just that you’ve picked up dog poop more times than you can count, reheated leftovers for dinner one too many times, and found yourself sniffing coconut suntan oil in the aisle of Target because you desperately need summer to come. You’re stressed. How can one kid throw up so many times from the flu? Why does your mom’s voicemail messages always end in a melancholy tone, even when she says she’s okay? Why aren’t more cheeseburgers organic? And if you get one more letter home about lice being detected in your kid’s class, well—it is madness. March madness.

Gone are all the shimmering tinsel and coziness of the winter holidays, and even Easter seems like it could still come with three feet of snow attached to it. How will you hide eggs outside, when all the kids have to do is wade through your snowy tracks, leading them to precisely the right part, and then coming back inside with a cold, the flu, and probably more head lice?

You’re feeling burned out. It’s enough. You think you might crack—like the ice falling from your roof like teeth from a dragon’s mouth. You’re grumpy; people have been muttering. You’re wiped out. You want to crawl into bed at the same time as your kids, or earlier, every night. No amount of naps seems to help.

Can you relate? The craziness of life can feel overwhelming. Stress can negatively affect your relationships, and sometimes a listening ear and encouragement are all you need. You can find that with us. We care about your situation. We care about guiding you in restoring calm. And we have no head lice.
