Maxine JohnsonMA Counseling Psychology
Maxine completed her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Saint Thomas. She is working toward licensure through the state of Minnesota as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Maxine’s background includes five years of experience working as an early childhood educator with a focus on early childhood development, learning through play, and Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE). This experience has contributed to Maxine’s approach to working with children and their families. She utilizes a holistic approach to therapy with a focus on attachment, and human behavior and learning. Although Maxine works with clients on a variety of issues, her more specific areas of interest are:
- Developmental Disorders/Delays
- Early Childhood Mental Health
Licensure, Certifications, Affiliations & Evidence Based Specialties
- Working toward certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT)
What can you expect in therapy? Therapy safe space in which you can explore your own experiences. Maxine believes in taking the client and family’s lead. You are in charge, but you are not alone. One of Maxine’s strength is to build a strong and stable therapeutic relationships with clients to support them through their challenges, success and discoveries.
